Financial Arrangements

Frontline Internal Medicine works hard to keep fees affordable for the care we provide our patients. We work with most insurance programs including Medicaid and Medicare. If you do not have health insurance and your income is limited, you may qualify for our special Wellness Financing Program. We also offer no-interest payment plans if you are not able to pay us during your visit. Please contact us to learn more.

Q. What are the regular office hours?

A. Dr.Mbakwe maintains regular office hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Q. How do I get hold of Dr. Mbakwe after hours?

A. If you have a medical emergency we advise that you go directly to the nearest hospital or ER. You may also call 9-1-1 in the case of a medical emergency. If you do not have an emergency but need to speak to your physician, you may call our regular office number and your call will be directed to one of our staff or Dr. Mbakwe.

Q: Who do you treat?

An Internal Medicine specialist is a primary care physician that treats a wide range of medical conditions in all adults from age 18 years and above.

Q. Will my physician respond to my medical questions via e-mail?

A. Currently Dr. Mbakwe does not respond to medical questions asked via e-mail.

Q. What insurances are taken at the office?

A. Frontline Internal Medicine accepts most major insurance carriers. Please contact the office to confirm participation with your insurance plan.

Q. When do I pay my co-pay?

A. If you have an office visit co-pay, it is your responsibility to make sure it is paid at the time services are rendered.

Q. Which forms of payment does Frontline Internal Medicine accept?

A. We accept cash and personal checks. The fee for a returned check is $30.

Q. Does the office accept walk-ins? Can I arrange a same day appointment?

A. Walk-ins are accepted at the office. If you need to see the physician immediately, please call the office to make an appointment as soon as possible—Dr. Mbakwe will try to accommodate your request including same day appointments.

Q. What if I am late for or miss an appointment?

A. If an established patient is more than 15 minutes late for her appointment, she may be automatically re-scheduled for another date, or the patient may have to wait longer until the other scheduled patients are seen. New patients who do not show up for their initial visit may be delayed in re-scheduling their appointments to accommodate other scheduled new patients.

If the patient misses an appointment, she will be responsible for contacting the office to re-schedule.

If a patient needs to re-schedule her appointment, the office staff appreciates a 24-hr notice.

Q. How do I request refills for my prescription?

A. You may call the office during regular business hours and request a prescription refill. Please allow 24 hours to process request; any requests made after business hours or on the weekends will be filled the next business day. Request received after business hours and on weekends will be addressed the next business day. Patients must be up to date with their annual exams and/or be compliant with their current care in order for refill requests to be considered. To help expedite your request, you may call your pharmacy to have the refill request faxed to our office. The office fax number is: (912) 681-8989.

Q. Where are blood tests performed?

A. Patients can have their samples taken in our clinic or be referred to the laboratory of their choice.

Q. Which hospital is Dr. Mbakwe affiliated with?

A. She is affiliated with East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
